Welcome to episode 74 of This Week Online Today, where I decided to keep it basic and discuss the future of the podcast.
And hopefully with your help, I can decide whether it’s the last episode or not.
Hey, What’s up? It’s Ahmed here and yep, there is not intro music, and I’m not going to do outro music and anything like that. Its just going to be kind of ad-hoc.
I haven’t prepared this, it’s just something I thought, you know what I need to do it.
There is no prepping, there was no kind of you know, layout of what I’m going to talk about when I normally do my podcast because I’m trying to wonder what to do next and I’m trying to think about the future of this podcast; If any, hence why I’ve titled it, The Last Episode, question mark.
So…”the last episode, question mark?”
So, why am I doing this? Well, I love podcasting and I enjoy doing it. I enjoy listening to it and I do want to keep going but it got me thinking about what is the purpose of this because there comes a point where I’m thinking it needs to be beneficial for other people and I’m not sure if it is.
So, I have been trying to think about; how can I structure it better? How can I give more value in a podcast? I don’t want to be just another podcast. That’s the thing, just there’s too many out there, too many competition and you know it’s about standing out in your own style, in your own way and being quite niche about it and you know speaking of niche, this recording is timed.
I’ve got another podcast that I’ve recently started for my deaf website, Hear Me Out [CC] Podcast and that is something at the very beginning so I can’t judge on that.
But this one, this is episode 74, I think it’s episode 74.
And or those who have listened to the early ones, you may have noticed it’s different the structure of it, and how it is right now because previously I used to have a different brand called IgniteRock and I focused on interviewing those who have WordPress and they use it for their business and they use it to grow their online presence.
It’s just a case of like, digging in and find out how they use it what they do to maximise their business and what you can learn from them. It took a lot of time because it’s not easy to find these people, even though there are, I’m sure a thousand million of them. It just took a lot of energy out of me just to get it all done.
So I structured it in a way to say that, “you know what? Maybe I should focus on doing a solo podcast” because I don’t have to do any, I don’t have to kind of chase people and wait for them to book a time like that.
I can do it in my own way but I still think I made it difficult for myself in ways of I have to still do some prepping, as we all do, but look for the news to talk about this week because this is supposed to be this week online today.
The problem is already, it’s kind challenging enough as it is to find useful news to talk about every week because I’m not going to be yet another new resource. It needs to be something different, something of value and you know that’s why I skipped one episode last week.
You may have noticed, you may have not, I don’t know but I skipped that episode because I didn’t feel like there was anything to share. I didn’t feel like there was anything to give to you, that you would find useful.
So… Is it useful?
I’m asking you and I just want to ask you this question. Do you find this useful, do you think it should stay that momentum, that consistency, that kind of structure and format or should I change it or should I just stop it?
Now it’s okay to stop it, I’m okay with that. It’s not like it’s the end of the world because, here’s what we should do, we should experiment and try different things and see how it works but it needs to be of value I don’t want to create for the sake of it.
So, I have a big favour to ask you.
Could you let me know, is it useful or not for you? Have you find it beneficial? Have you learned anything from it, if anything at all? Or have you not learned anything? You know, maybe you, for some reason you’ll listen to it but you don’t listen to it at all because you’re just nice person or you just know who I am and you just want to support me. Which I appreciate, because I have had that support but I just want to make sure that it is giving value to you.
So could you let me know? You know, I’ll put in the show notes you know, the contact details and you can contact me there, whether social media or email and I’m just curious as to know whether you find it useful or not, because I’m kind of, as of this moment, feeling slightly reluctant to move forward because of this issue, because of just being another noise out there.
I don’t want to be another noise. I want to be of value, give you something that to look forward to and you can use and apply it to your own business, but maybe I’m pushing it, maybe it’s not something I can do right now, or ever. So, I would really, really appreciate if you could let me know what you think.
Share your thoughts and also just maybe share ideas as well. If you have any further ideas, great, I’m open to all suggestions but like I said, if you don’t think I should keep going, if you don’t think that’s it’s been beneficial to you, let me know, let me know because I would actually appreciate that comment. You don’t have to worry about you know, hurting my feelings or anything like that. Don’t worry about that, you know it’s okay, it’s okay.
So let me know, and I’m going to see how it goes. I’m going to take a bit of a break. I’m not going to say a long time but if it’s the last episode then I might and I’m saying I might not, don’t know, it depends on how I feel but as of right now, you know here’s why I did a question mark on whether it’s the last episode or not.
Thank you for listening
I really appreciate you and I appreciate your support and I hope to speak to you soon.
