Even though they tend to have a lot less search volume than the broad keywords, did you know that long-tail keywords are more lucrative?
Like “best places to eat in London” vs searching for “restaurants” while in London?
Or “camera” vs “small mirrorless Sony camera”?
Because there is stronger intent when searching with long-tail keywords, your audience will more likely take action as they are specific about what they are looking for.
Plus, they are a lot less competitive to target, which means that you are more likely to end up on the first page of Google than for broad keywords like “camera” or “holidays”.
But have you ever wondered how to find long-tail keywords for your content?
Using a paid tool called SEMrush you can find thousands of them in just minutes and in this post, I will demonstrate how you can do this yourself in a video.

Finding those long-tailed keywords are so important for your website.
You know what I’m talking about – those keywords which are two or more words long. They tend to be very lucrative and also give you an opportunity to rank high for them on Google.
But how do you find them? You need to look deeper to find those popular keywords and give you an opportunity to rank.
In this video, I’m going to show you how you can do that, find hundreds maybe thousands of long-tailed keywords in just minutes, coming right up.
What’s up everyone, I am Ahmed Khalifa and why don’t we just get straight into it and show you how you can find those keywords using a tool that I absolutely love called SEMrush. It’s such a powerful tool. You need to be using it if you don’t know how to use it.
This is what you do. When you get in there you can search under the ‘Keyword Analytics’ overview and you type in whatever you want. In this case, I’ve decided I’m gonna search for a “soup recipes”.
Just imagine you’re a food blogger and you want to get more ideas, something a bit different from everyone else and give you an opportunity to rank higher. Not just the broad “soup recipe” or “tomato soup”, for example.
What you do is, after we type in, here’s the data you get. Based in the U.S. you can change the country if you want. You want to go to this section right here, ‘phrase match’ keywords. There are 23,000, over 23,000 keywords related to soup recipes.
If you look in there, view full report, you can get so much information about it. This is where you get deeper and deeper about what you can find. So you scroll down and here there are literally 23 and a half thousand soup recipe keywords in there. Basically you can look at it by search volume. But maybe it’s too broad. You can search by keyword difficulty, the cost per click, how competitive it is. You can look at the result, is it trending, is it not.
But basically you can scroll and scroll and can really find valuable keywords. Of course you can filter even more. Maybe you want to focus on a specific flavour for example. Maybe you want to focus for example on tomato. When you do that, you just press apply and there you go.
Even more related to tomato soup recipes and you still got around 656 keywords around the area. Same information there as well. You can dig deeper. Maybe if you want to look at this “tomato basil soup recipe”, you click on that and you can get more information if you want to about that particular keyword. It’s so, so useful.
By doing that you can get more information about that particular keyword, find more related and the phrase match keywords and look at the result as well and has it appeared in Google Ads and you can get so much out of it. But that’s how you do it, long-tailed keywords. You use this tool called SEMrush, very, very powerful.
